WIP…barn conversion in Exmoor National Park

The aim of this project is to gain permission to convert the barns into a home office and workshop. We may look to change the flat corrugated roof with a new slate pitched roof so it links in visually with the main house. Important to maintain those fantastic views over the paddocks.

As with any barn conversion you typically require an Ecology Survey to be carried out by a qualified Ecologist to check for evidence of birds and bats so any works can be timed to minimise disruption and appropriate mitigation can be designed into the new structure. We always seek to enhance opportunities for encouraging biodiversity, for example on this project a new pitched roof may provide space for a dedicated bat roost.
